SEO for CMSs at Refresh Rockville

Looking forward to my presentation this evening for Refresh Rockville on the topic of SEO for CMSs. I’m resurrecting my blog from the dead once again in case anyone finds it through Twitter or some other means. I’d like to encourage you to leave any feedback you might have on my presentation in the comments below as I’m always interested in ways I can improve.

A note about the topic: Using a CMS doesn’t necessarily have a negative impact on SEO as long as you cross all your i’s and dot all your t’s. The main problem I see with CMS implementations that haven’t been audited for SEO is duplicate content and URL canonicalization. Although I’ll give a pretty general overview tonight, the subject of duplicate content is what I’ll spend the most time on.

I hope everyone enjoys the presentation and again, let me know what you think. Be sure to connect with me on LinkedIn too, if you haven’t already.
